Fermentation Manager (location Glenorie NSW)

We require an experienced Fermentation Manager to work in a highly regulated quality environment adhering to APVMA, EU and cGMP procedures and guidelines. 

In this role you will:

  • Ensure compliance with all OHS, cGMP and regulatory policies and procedures as required.
  • Implement and maintain rigorous SOPs and evaluate operator performance in accordance with cGMP.
  • Manage and develop a dedicated and enthusiastic team including day-to-day supervision, training, mentoring and performance management. 

This position reports to the Group Production Manager (Viral, Protozoal and Bacterial Product lines) and you will communicate directly and frequently with our very experienced Engineering, Validation, QC and QA teams.

This is a great career opportunity and an exciting role as Bioproperties' current fermentation product range is gearing towards European supply and our professional R&D team is working on a number of world class products in scale-up phase.

To be successful in this demanding role, you will possess the following attributes:

  • A degree in fermentation science (preferred) or related discipline (microbiology, biochemistry).
  • A minimum of 10 years production management in a fermentation environment with full scale production processes (including downstream processing – TFF).
  • Proven problem solver with the ability to troubleshoot process and equipment problems and recommend effective solutions.
  • Proficient in data analysis, development and evaluation to provide trend data of fermentation output.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment adhering to EU and APVMA guidelines.
  • Have a collaborative approach to scientific development in working with process development to implement new fermentation processes in support of the various development programs at Bioproperties.
  • Strong organisational skills, high attention to detail and the ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks.
  • Excellent technical, written and verbal communication skills.

Remuneration commensurate with experience.

Laboratory Technicians

We have permanent full-time, permanent part time and casual positions available.

The following attributes are required: positive ‘can do’ attitude, flexibility, attention to detail, high motivation and physical work rate, ability to follow procedures exactly, must enjoy positive team environment.

Duties include cleaning, clean room work, machine operation-filling, labelling, packing product. Full training provided. No tertiary experience necessary.

Bioproperties operates under an Australian Workplace Agreement and remuneration is commensurate with skills and experience.
